About
Yalçın Yeşiltepe (1998, Istanbul) completed his undergraduate studies in 2020 at the Department of Ceramics and Glass, Faculty of Fine Arts, Marmara University. He also completed a minor in Interior Architecture, which helped him develop an interdisciplinary perspective.
Throughout his education, his work was influenced by the Bauhaus tradition and shaped by art, design, and craft, playing an important role in the development of his creative expression. His close working relationships with respected ceramic artists on both local and international levels enriched his technical knowledge and contributed to the formation of his artistic approach.
In 2021, he became a co founder of Yel Studios and has since been actively involved in running an international design brand. Based in Istanbul, Yel Studios was founded together with designer and interior architect Elif Aybüke Turgut and operates as a dynamic design studio focused on designing and producing modern, timeless objects with ceramics at its core.
Alongside his design practice, Yeşiltepe produces a limited number of artistic works through which he explores multiple narratives using ceramic materials.
His practice seeks to expand the boundaries of the material through space, form, texture, and depth. He aims to enhance the expressive potential of material while bringing together aesthetics and functionality at the intersection of art and design.
